If you've been waiting on the Error 404 GR86 widebody kit and wondering what the hell happened — this one's for you. I've been wanting to tell this story for a while, and honestly, it feels good to finally get it out.
How it started
In the summer of 2024, my friends Seth, Carlos, and I launched Error 404 Motorsports. I had designed the GR86 widebody kit entirely from scratch — every panel, every curve. But since I'd never taken a project from renders to a physical kit before, we commissioned an outside company to handle production. I wanted it to be perfect. No bodywork required. Just bolt-on fitment done right.
That company took three times as long as promised. And when the kit finally showed up, it didn't fit. At all. The carbon quality was so bad that we didn't even run more than half the GR86 carbon fiber parts when we unveiled the car at SEMA 2024. The front lip was so rough we had to wrap it black just so nobody would see it. We lost a ton of money and had to start completely over.
That one hurt. But we weren't done.

Starting over — smarter this time
By spring 2025, we found a new manufacturing partner. Instead of jumping straight into the full kit, we picked two parts as a test — the GR86 trunk spoiler and the GR86 window visor. Both fit stock GR86s without the widebody, which meant we could sell them right away and start building some revenue while we finished the rest.
When those parts arrived that summer, I knew we had finally found the right people to work with. The fitment was perfect. The carbon was exactly what I had envisioned from the beginning. By winter 2025, we had sold and shipped over 40 units — and the feedback from customers was everything we'd worked for.
Now: the founders kit

In 2026, we're finishing the full GR86 widebody kit. To help fund the final stretch, we're dropping a limited founders run. Pricing will be lower than anything else in its class on the market currently.
GR86 Founders Kit — At a Glance
Each of these 10 kits will be individually badged and numbered. Once they're gone, that's it. And unlike what we showed at SEMA in 2024, this GR86 widebody is the real thing — built the way I always intended it to be.
To everyone who stuck around
Honestly, none of this would have been possible without the people who bought the spoiler and visor, shared the content, and kept asking about the kit. That support kept us going when things were rough. This founder's run is for you.
